No experience needed, only a healthy sense of adventure! We ask that our guests arrive 15min before their scheduled tour time for general activity or tour safety information, paddling instruction, equipment fitting, etc. We want our guests to have a fun experience and hope to have everyone tour with us again! Moderate physical ability, but no prior experience is necessary to participate in most activities
Personal Planning You will receive individual, personal planning and assistance from one individual assigned to help you with all your needs. Our Planners are locals and guides who know all the best spots and can help you get the maximum entertainment for the budget you have to work with!
Private vs Group Tours Private tours give individual attention to your interests and your small group or family. Best option for real wildlife fans who want a quiet experience with increased opportunity for more extensive exploring. Our regular Group tour sizes are small, generally 10-12 people, average 2-3 families. We can accommodate larger groups for reunions, parties and corporate events, just contact us and we can help you plan. For Groups larger than 12 we offer a private tour at the group tour rate! Give us a call and we're happy to help plan a fun adventure for your special event, family reunion or corporate outing.
Tour Guides All Tours and guides are local and always happy to offer suggestions to make your vacation special! The best guides are local!
Wildlife Wildlife sightings depend on a variety of factors. Our tour locations are in the great outdoors and we have no control over what we will see on any given tour. Every tour is different depending on season, weather, temps, river conditions, noise levels and many other reasons. While we can't guarantee any particular wildlife sightings, we know the best places to look for everything! Our guides have spent hundreds of hours paddling the Waccamaw and Myrtle Beach area and have learned where the best chances of sightings will be.
Equipment All equipment is maintained and inspected by tour operators. They specialize in their fields and provide the experience and equipment to fit your needs and level of experience. Kayaks are high quality recreational style kayaks that are stable and easy for paddlers with little or no experience. Sit on Top and Sit Inside single person, Sit on Top and Sit Inside Tandem models that will hold 2 adults and 1 child. All boats are comfortable with adjustable seats, room for a small cooler and a few personal items. Coast Guard Approved life jackets, paddles, safety equipment and a dry bag are all included. We provide all safety equipment and inspect before every tour to provide you with the confidence to get out on the water or on any adventure. All equipment and life jackets are cleaned and disinfected between every tour.
Tour Locations Tours and activities vary by location. Locations are chosen based on what our guests want to see and do. Guides will meet you at the location of the planned activity directions and detailed info. will be given for tour locations when booked. You are responsible for your transportation to the activity site. Most are within 20min drive from the Myrtle Beach area. Some specialty tours are at farther locations and will be noted. Special programs and guide service available at your location..
*** Budget Saving Tip*** If you don't have transportation to the activity location, consider renting a car or van for the day! Rental rates are comparable to the cost of a taxi and you have it for the whole day or vacation to explore all the beauty South Carolina has to offer! Several rental companies will even pick you up at your resort or campground!
Medical Concerns If you are concerned about any medical condition that you have, consult your physician before participating in any activity. Please let us know of any special needs or conditions to help you plan for your level of activity. Our guides are not qualified to determine whether you should be paddling with tennis elbow, biking with a bad back, hiking with a heart condition, pregnancy, etc.
Safety Info Each individual is responsible for their own safety while participating in any of our planned activities. Many outdoor activities have some level of inherent danger. Our guides help you avoid dangerous situations, but can not guarantee your safety. You will be given safety information for the specific activity. You will be asked to sign a waiver of liability prior to participation.. If you bring a child that is not yours, please download and have their parent or legal guardian sign the liability waiver. You can save time at the tour site by downloading & bringing a signed copy with you, but we always have them at the tour location. What to Bring Sunglasses with a strap, sunscreen, bug repellent, waterproof or disposable camera in a zip lock bag, a sack lunch or snacks, and plenty of bottled water. There is room for a soft-sided or small 6-pack type cooler in your kayak. Binoculars and cameras welcome, lots of great photo opportunities! Just beware they could get wet! Be sure to bring any personal emergency medications, such as for allergies, that you may require. Leave valuables that you do not want to risk dropping into the water locked up in your car or at home.
What to Wear Brimmed hat, cap, or sun visor and footwear that you do not mind getting wet (sneakers, sandals, aqua shoes). You may want to be prepared to swim in warmer months. If cooler weather in the morning, then dress in layers since it can warm up rapidly during the day.
Pet Friendly? Most of our tours do not allow pets for safety reasons, but our guides and planners are pet friendly and can help you plan a fun vacation with your 4 legged family member! Just ask and we can help plan a pet friendly itinerary, as local pet owners, we know all the local laws & fun locations!. Service animals that are good with water welcome!
Cancellation Policy Your cancellation must be made at least 48 hours in advance for a full refund.. Less than 48hr notice will be charged a $25.00 cancellation fee per guest. We plan for the number of guides and equipment needed based on reservations and may turn away people if the tour fills up. No show, no call, no refund. We may cancel tours at our discretion with no charge to you in the event of bad weather or other circumstances. Safety is our first concern! In the event we have to cancel an activity you will be offered to reschedule or receive a full refund for any money paid for admission or participation, We will do our best to offer alternative activities due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS ALLOWED We will not allow impaired individuals on our tours for legal & safety reasons. Our guides reserve the right to refuse service to individuals who they deem not safe to participate for any reason, safety is our priority!
NO FEEDING OR HANDLING WILDLIFE We practice Leave No Trace Ethics and ask all our guests to respect the places they are visiting. Feeding, harassing or handling wildlife is strictly prohibited and poses great safety risks to both people and wildlife.
