Our scenic tours offer a chance to see Ospreys, Egrets, Herons, Snakes, Moss Draped Cypress Trees and a wide variety of Native Flowers. Chance encounters with an American Alligator, Bald Eagle or the endangered Swallowtail Kite are a special experience. Hear stories about pirates like Blackbeard that hid in the river system, and the history of how the area grew to what it is today. Chris has spent his life working and playing outdoors. Early years in the Mountain Men and growing up in WV taught a keen eye for wildlife and priority for safety in the outdoors. His understanding of animal behavior, passion for nature, and sense of humor make him a great guide. He has been learning and exploring the Carolina Coast for the past 18yrs. and is happy to share his knowledge with his guests. Wilderness First Aid, CPR and First Aid Certified. Trained in risk management, boating safety & trip planning. His photography has been used by American Rivers, The SC Nature Conservancy, Waccamaw Riverkeeper and various other groups, featuring the beauty of our area.
Jane has grown up camping, hiking, boating and enjoying the outdoors. Years of quality customer service as a local business owner gives her an understanding of how much people need to enjoy their relaxation time. Her enthusiasm and friendly nature make everyone feel welcome. Her attention to details keep things running smoothly for a fun adventure. Always willing to make sure everyone feels safe and happy, even if it means taking on a passenger! CPR and First Aid Certified. Trained in Risk management, boating safety & trip planning
Owners Chris and Jane are avid birdwatchers and nature lovers. Relocation to the Myrtle Beach area in 1998 opened a whole new world to explore and learn about. They volunteer their time through Adopt a Landing, support the efforts of their local Waccamaw Riverkeeper, Lead local Sierra Club Outings, wildlife surveys as citizen scientists & coordinate local waterway and beach cleanups. Local, small business owners for 15yrs who want to share their passion for the great outdoors with others. Chris and Jane received the Palmetto Pathfinder Award from SC Sierra Club, Volunteers of the Year Award from the Waccamaw Riverkeeper Org. for 2015, Gator Bait has been recognized with the Small Business of the year Award by Keep Horry County Beautiful 2016, Listed as an Editor's Choice in the Top 10 Things to Do in Myrtle Beach, Certificate of Excellence on Trip Advisor
